Cromer & Sheringham Walking Map

Walking in the Cromer, Sheringham, Overstrand, Northrepps, Felbrigg, Weybourne, and Bodham area offers a wonderful combination of clifftop, woodland, and countryside adventures. The Norfolk Coast Path, part of the National Trail network, runs through Cromer and Sheringham, giving walkers access to dramatic sea views and wide beaches. Hill walks, although modest in height compared to inland regions, are still rewarding; Beeston Bump near Sheringham, a glacial hill, provides panoramic views of the coastline. The Cromer Ridge offers gently undulating countryside walks through ancient woodlands and farmland. River walks can be enjoyed along small streams and waterways flowing toward the sea, and the wider region is part of the Norfolk Coast National Landscape (formerly AONB).

Heritage attractions are plentiful, with Felbrigg Hall, a magnificent 17th-century National Trust property, offering stately walks through its historic parkland and woods. Sheringham Park, designed by Humphry Repton, is famed for its rhododendrons and sweeping sea views. The North Norfolk Railway, known as the "Poppy Line," connects Sheringham and Holt, with beautifully preserved steam trains passing through picturesque countryside and historic bridges. Coastal features, such as the piers at Cromer and the fossil-rich cliffs, add even more interest. Walking here mixes maritime heritage, rural charm, and timeless English landscapes.
