Peddars Way Map 2: Castle Acre to Holme-next-the-Sea Walking Map

This is the second in a series of two high-resolution Peddars Way maps, covering the Peddars Way Route which runs for 46 miles from Knettishall Heath to Holme-next-the-Sea. Created with OS 1:25 000 data enhanced to 1:16 000, these laminated maps are easy to read and VERY easy to use in the field.

This Peddars Way map starts in Castle Acre and finishes in Holme-next-the-Sea, an approximate distance of 20 miles. The path leaves the historic village of Castle Acre, notable for its medieval castle and the ruins of Castle Acre Priory, both offering a fascinating glimpse into Norfolk's history with impressive earthworks and remains of a Cluniac priory, and heads north. It passes through a mixture of woodland, farmland, and heathland, providing a peaceful and varied landscape. The trail is well-marked and relatively flat, making it accessible for walkers of all abilities. Key highlights include the archaeological-rich village of Sedgeford, the picturesque scenery around Fring and Ringstead, and the journey's end at Holme-next-the-Sea with the Holme Dunes Nature Reserve, known for its birdlife and unique coastal habitat. It is at this point that the Peddars Way joins the Norfolk Coast Path.
