The South West Coast Path Maps
The South West Coast Path Maps are a series of 21 Zigzag maps covering the whole of the Southwest Coastal Path at an easy to read scale of 1:16 000.
The South West Coast Path spans 630 miles, from Minehead to Poole Harbour, passing through Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset. It comprises rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, estuaries, and rolling hills. The path also traverses two World Heritage Sites: the Jurassic Coast and the Cornish and West Devon Mining Landscape. The path is maintained by the South West Coast Path Association and numerous volunteers, who make sure it remains a popular destination for walkers from around the world.
The South West Coast Path has a rich history rooted in England’s maritime past. The path traces its origins to the coastguards who patrolled the cliffs looking for smugglers during the 18th and 19th centuries and their need for a clear line of sight to the sea. Over time, the path evolved into a recreational coastal route and the South West Coast Path was officially designated a National Trail in 1978.
