Beacons Way 3: Craig-y-nos to Llangadog Walking Map

The Beacons Way runs for 99 miles across the spectacular upland scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park from Abergavenny train station to Llangadog train station through Monmouthshire, Powys and Carmarthenshire in Wales. The trail follows remote, rugged terrain and can be challenging with 8,500 feet of ascent. It is waymarked where it crosses farmland, but there is no waymarking on open hills and moorland so it is advisable to have good route navigational skills and a compass. The Beacons Way was devised by the late John Sansom (an avid walker and key member of the Brecon Beacons Park Society), in conjunction with Arwel Michael and Chris Barber.

This last map in the three-part series starts at Craig-y-nos Country Park before heading along the Cambrian Way towards Llangadog via Fan Brycheiniog, Picws Du, The Black Mountain / Y Mynydd Du, Foel Fawr and Carn Goch. The alternative route is shown in case of poor weather near Fan Brycheiniog and Picws Du.
