Norfolk Coast Path Map 4: Somerton to Lowestoft Walking Map

This is the last in a series of four high-resolution Norfolk Coast Path maps, covering the Norfolk Coast Path walk which runs for 84 miles from Hunstanton to Hopton-on-Sea. Created with OS 1:25 000 data enhanced to 1:16 000, these laminated maps are easy to read and VERY easy to use in the field.

This Norfolk Coast Path map starts in Somerton and the path finishes in Hopton-on-Sea although the map continues on to Lowestoft. The approximate distance from Somerton to Hopton-on-Sea is 15 miles with the continuation to Lowestoft being a further 6 miles. Leaving Winterton-on-Sea and its dunes, the path continues through Caister-on-Sea, a mile inland lie the ruins of Caister Castle built by Sir John Falstof who was an inspiration for William Shakespeare’s Falstaff, before arriving at Great Yarmouth, a popular seaside resort. The last stretch of the current path runs a few miles south to Hopton-on-Sea where it ends. One assumes that at some point it will join up with the Suffolk Coast Path which is some 4 miles further south and starts on the opposite bank of the River Waveney, which is the county boundary.
