South West Coast Path 1: Minehead to Woody Bay Walking Map

The South West Coast Path starts in Minehead and is marked by a distinctive sculpture of a pair of hands holding a map, symbolising the start of an epic adventure. This first in the series of South West Coast Path maps covers a distance of 20 miles to Woody Bay. The path climbs North Hill then continues to Selworthy Beacon, one of the highest points on Exmoor. The trail descends towards the quaint village of Bossington and reaches Porlock Weir, a historic harbour. Highlights of this section include Culbone Church, the smallest parish church in England, nestled in a secluded wooded valley, and the lush woodland of the Glenthorne Estate with stunning coastal views. Winding around Foreland Point, the path offers dramatic sea views and opportunities to spot seabirds and seals. Climbing Countisbury Hill provides expansive views over the Bristol Channel before reaching Lynton and Lynmouth, twin villages where Exmoor meets the sea. Passing through the dramatic Valley of Rocks with its feral goats the southwest coastal path continues to Woody Bay.
