Beverley 20 'XL' Walking Map

The Beverley 20, also known as the Beverley Twenty, is a 18-mile long-distance walking route through the East Riding of Yorkshire, starting at the Humber Bridge and ending at the magnificent Beverley Minster. It follows part of the Trans Pennine Trail and connects with sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Starting beside the Humber estuary, the walk heads inland through North Ferriby, then along peaceful farmland and rolling chalk hills via Welton Dale, Skidby (home to its classic Skidby Windmill), and the attractive Risby Park, before entering Beverley.

Along the way, walkers enjoy a blend of riverside trails, farmland paths, and rolling wolds terrain. Highlights include the Folly Café in Risby Park – a welcome stop for refreshments – as well as serene riverside walking along Beverley Beck as the route enters the town. On reaching Beverley, walkers can explore the historic town centre, including Beverley Minster, the ancient North Bar, and Beverley Westwood, a vast green common grazed by cattle, featuring landmarks such as the Black Mill and the racecourse. This route strikes a perfect balance of rural beauty, cultural heritage, and accessible long-distance walking in East Yorkshire.
